Check Digit

This is Check Digit, my entry for the VimJam4 game jam 2023 and really my first time making a game (go easy on me). It's imperfect and unfinished, as is the way with jam games sometimes, but I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did making it!

In this turn-based, optimisation puzzle game the player must collect 3 glowing orbs and reach the portal at the end of the level by strategically placing down their own checkpoint and crossing paths with enemies.

Each of the 10 levels can be replayed in order to optimise for either the smallest number of moves or the smallest number of respawns used.

Unfortunately I ran out of time to add extra features such as an undo button, sound effects and accessibility options. I might come back to this game concept at some point in the future, but given certain recent events that will likely happen in a different game engine.

All art, code and other assets (hastily) put together by yours truly.
